Erin and Ruth discuss the three subtypes or instincts, how they show up in all of us developmentally, and why they are so important to our conversations about developing our own sense of internal safety. They also discuss what it truly means to feel safe and how people have weaponized it to detract from their own behaviors. Over on Patreon, Erin and Colleen sit down to have a conversation that delves deeper into instinct theory, how to determine your own instinct preferences, and what it means to be the \u201ccountertype\u201d of your number.<\/p>\n<p>This season we are using the framework of the enneagram, and in particular the ways the 3 instinctual subtypes impact each enneagram number, to help people do the necessary inner work of knowing themselves and managing anxiety, triggers, and stuck patterns so that they can lead others well. This season, we are moving beyond the basics of describing each number type to look at our instincts and what motivates our behaviors.
