\n\t\t\tWhat We Believe\t<\/h1>\n\t\n

Statement of Faith<\/h2>\n

The Transforming Center affirms the Apostles’ Creed as a historic expression of Christian faith, and also receives with gratitude the United Church of Canada’s new creed as a faithful, contemporary witness to the same living God. Rooted in the historic faith expressed in the Apostles’ Creed, this new creed is a prayerful and timely articulation of Christian faith for our present moment-a Spirit-led, contemporary expression that speaks to today’s church and world as all creeds are intended to do.<\/p>\n

A New Creed<\/h3>\nWe\u00a0are\u00a0not\u00a0alone,
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 we live in God’s world.<\/em>\nWe\u00a0believe\u00a0in\u00a0God:<\/em>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 who has created and is creating,<\/em>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 who\u00a0has\u00a0come\u00a0in\u00a0Jesus,<\/em>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 the\u00a0Word\u00a0made\u00a0flesh,<\/em>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 to\u00a0reconcile\u00a0and\u00a0make\u00a0new,<\/em>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 who works in us and others <\/em>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 by the Spirit.<\/em> \nWe\u00a0trust\u00a0in\u00a0God.<\/em> \nWe\u00a0are\u00a0called\u00a0to\u00a0be\u00a0the\u00a0Church:<\/em>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 to\u00a0celebrate\u00a0God’s\u00a0presence,<\/em>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 to\u00a0live\u00a0with\u00a0respect\u00a0in\u00a0Creation,<\/em>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 to\u00a0love\u00a0and\u00a0serve\u00a0others,<\/em>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 to\u00a0seek\u00a0justice\u00a0and\u00a0resist\u00a0evil,<\/em>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,<\/em>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 our judge and our hope.<\/em> \nIn life, in death, in life beyond death, <\/em>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 God is with us.<\/em>
\nWe\u00a0are\u00a0not\u00a0alone.<\/em> \n\u00a0 \u00a0 Thanks\u00a0be\u00a0to\u00a0God.<\/em> \n

\nHe suffered under Pontius Pilate,<\/em>

\nOn the third day he rose again.<\/em>
